Saíd Cevallos

Hi, my name is Saíd Cevallos, and I moved from the northern area of Esmeraldas (Borbón), to pursue higher education and sports through the opportunity that La Fraternidad Ecuador has given me. My family consists of five members: my father, my mother, and I have two siblings.

I am the oldest of the three siblings. But here I am one of the three youngest members of La Frate. My parents, who still live in Esmeraldas, where over 76% of the population are without basic needs, are dedicated to agriculture. Their highest level of education was finishing high school and they now work the land to cultivate crops and sell their produce to thus provide an education for me and my brothers.

While I am only in my second-to-last year of high school, my health and safety were in danger and my parents asked Leo to allow me to join La Fraternidad Ecuador early. I am here at La Frate first and foremost to progress in my studies, grateful for this opportunity for a better chance at a career to provide for my family, but my childhood dream is to possibly play football for a professional team.

I am humbled by this life-saving opportunity La Fraternidad Ecuador has given me, and eager to improve myself so that I can help my family and social environment back home. I am very grateful for all the help from donors, you are changing all of our lives.
